WHO WAS THE PIONEER

Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila Board (HITB), Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila Education Welfare Trust (HITEWT) and President HITEC LIEUTENANT GENERAL ISRAR AHMAD GHUMMAN, HI, HI (M) presided over the Inaugural Meeting of HITEC at 1100 hours on 14th October 2006 at HITEC Secretariat. The meeting was attended besides the Administrator, by all the Directors and Heads of HITEC Institutions. The Chairman welcomed the participants and prayed that Allah Almighty may give us wisdom to take decisions, which will lead HITEC to success and glory. The General enlarged upon various HITEC matters at length and in good detail. He presented an extensive account of how and for what reasons the HITEC has come about and articulated his vision of HITEC, now and in the coming years. He gave comprehensive directions with regard to nearly all the conceivable aspects of HITEC functioning. He articulated various policy decisions and gave guidelines which would form basis of HITEC's routine working and future development. A booklet has been prepared to record the gist of General's Vision of creating HITEC and Guidelines for manifestation of his Vision, HITEC's Organizational Framework, Functional Parameters and Projected Plans. This inaugural interaction was aimed at creating a common perspective for understanding the Vision and its implementation philosophy so as to forge a healthy and focused team. It is expected that the well articulated and synchronized effect of this team shall lead to the attainment of the Object of HITEC and meeting the aspirations of all the participants involved in the noble cause of Education at HITEC - Academia and students inclusive.

Currently around 2800 students from all over the country reflect the rich diversity of our student community. HITEC’s spacious campus and custom built schools with a wide range of facilities on its 101 acre site is a revival of the ancient Julian University, located in the foothills of Margallah near Taxila. Taxila’s prime location on G.T road offers fast and convenient travel links to the rest of the country.
